About Millennium Health and Training
Hi My name is Terry Windus and and I am the founder of Millennium Health and Training. I come from a bodybuilding back ground and have competed in the Western Australian Bodybuilding Championships back in 1988 and 1990. Then to cut a long story short in 1993 I incorporated tai chi into my training regimen. Having trained with different tai chi Masters and advanced instructors learning the healing and combative aspects of tai chi. I soon came to know what the chi – internal energy of tai chi was and how rare and unknown in the western world it was. The chi internal power which in part is developed by the power of the mind is the central aspect of it for both healing and fighting. In our organization it is emphasised from day one. Millennium Health and Training has been operating since 2001 and we teach the Yang 24 form also known as the Beijing form and the Yang style long form, push hands or tuishou and the combative self defence applications from tai chi. What is Tai Chi
What is Chi?
Tai chi is an internal Chinese martial art and is believed to have been developed by the Taoist monk Zhang Sanfeng during the 12 th century. According to ledgend, he created Tai Chi after observing a fight between a snake and a crane, which inspired him to develop a martial art based on the principle of softness overcoming hardness. Zhang Sanfeng’s teachings emphasized the Taoist principles of balance, harmony and the interplay of yin and yang . These principles are central to Tai Chi, which focuses on fluid, continuous movements and the cultivation of internal energy (qi). The lower Tan Tien is called both “medicine field “ and “elixir field because it can attract and store healing forces such as origin chi; also called pre-natal chi. The Tan Tien is also called the ocean, sea of chi, vermillion field, cauldron or navel centre.
